Bungalow Kitchen: We don’t need no stinkin’ wall

On Monday, Memorial Day, the Renovation Whisperer came to our house to help us get some more destruction underway.  He came to help tear out the wall!

Once we made sure the wall wasn’t load bearing, and made a temporary wall for what was load bearing, we set to work pulling off all the lath and plaster on both sides of the wall.

It’s a dusty job, but someone has to do it.

Then we set to work removing the studs and putting up a beam.

It’s not completely load bearing but the beam will help tie all the rafters and beams together.

Robear showed up to help with some of the clean up and encourage us that this wall being gone will be amazing.

At the end of Monday our kitchen had gone from this:

To this:

Making some incredible progress thanks to the amazing crew of Home Hinges.
Thanks Dad, Mom, April & Family.
