Giveaway: a Nathan Pinnock Oil Painted Santa

Right now you’re probably wondering if you read the title of this post correctly.  Could a professional painter of Nathan Pinnock‘s talent really be giving away a painting on simple little Home Hinges?  But don’t worry, your eyes aren’t going bad, it’s true! And we are ecstatic.

Nathan Pinnock, of sound mind and body, actually said, “Hey, April, would you like to give this Santa painting away on your site?”  (See some of his other paintings featured previously on our site.)

And that’s when, due to complete astonishment, she almost lost the ability to form coherent sentences.  But a few deep breaths later, squeaked out in her most dignified and professional voice,

“Uhhh, YEAH!  That would be AWESOME.”

Then, concerned the smell of terpenoid had finally gotten to him, asked, “Are you sure?”  But he was.

So we have a beautiful Nathan Pinnock Santa to give away just in time for Christmas!

April currently has this cute Santa at her house, waiting for a lucky winner.  And while she has Santa, she’s making the most of him.

She writes:

I felt he would feel at home on the dining room hutch overlooking the snowy back yard.

But then I thought he might look good on the tree.  (This Santa painting fits nicely in a standard 5×7 frame after you remove the glass.)

A little while later I walked into my piano room and realized it didn’t have any Christmas decorations at all.  This was quickly remedied by creating a new vignette on the TV hutch I transformed into a music bookcase.

Set on a stack of Miss-Mustard-Seed-style books, surrounded by clippings from Paula’s backyard pine trees, and paired with my 50% off plush Santa and ribbon, Nathan Pinnock‘s oil painted Santa really adds a touch of elegance.

Now if only I could be the winner.   But that will end up being one of you lucky souls instead.

So here’s how you can win.

Choose ONE of the following options, or if you want to stack your deck, do some of the other options too.  Everyone can have up to four chances.  Just be sure to leave a comment for each option you do.  It only takes one comment, but more gives you a better chance of winning this fabulous Santa.

1.  Just leave a comment on this post telling us how you’ll decorate with this fun Santa painting.

  • *What a beautiful painting. I would love to put this in the living room on the sofa table next to the Christmas tree. This particular tree is Santa themed so the picture would be a great addition.

  • *Many of the ones that I like are sold. I do really like A Job Well Done. The colors would be perfect for our home and the image of Santa next to the fireplace is cozy.
Thank you for introducing us to this artist.

  • *I’m thrilled that you linked this up to Passion for Paint, April! What an honor! I’m also sharing on Twitter & Facebook – hope that’s okay 😉

Nathan’s work is so incredible. When I see art like his, it inspires me to work even harder!

  • What a beautiful painting! I would love to add him to my collection of Santas on display in our living room!

  • *I would love to put the Santa painting on my desk at work to bring some Christmas cheer to the office! After all, we spend more time at work than we do at home. For Christmas I can bring home the Santa painting and put it on the table so he can join the family for dinner.

  • *what a beautiful picture!! i would love to put it in my home – probably on the shelf by our christmas tree, so everyone can see it!! i love it!!

  • *another of his paintings is “mary with christchild” which is also gorgeously painted. what a talent!!

  • I was first pointed in the direction of Nathan Pinnock’s oils about 6 or 7 months ago. I was drawn to his ability to mix a sort of ‘yesteryear’ charm into modern works. Then when I moved into my apartment a few months ago, an apartment that has the same charm, I thought I should fill it with art that evokes the same feeling. The Santa would be featured prominently on a unique built-in in my front room that is an arch-shaped alcove with dark wood shelves. I have a number of antique pieces on there and Santa would fit right in and be a showcase for myself and my visitors.

  • Oh and as for his other works, his portraits are brilliant but something about ‘Sisters’ really resonates with me.

  • Beautiful painting – I would love to add it to my art collage! What a fun, unexpected addition it would be for Christmas!

  • I loved looking thru Nathan’s gallery! Too hard to pick a favorite – The painting of the single wiseman following the star is especially lovely!

  • oh wow. I love his work. I like everyone else would love that splendid Santa Painting to hang in my living room next to the tree. It is truly lovely. Those eyes are so full of light and depth.

I loved going through the Nathan Pinnock’s gallery. I was especially drawn to The Virgin with the Lamp, Winter Claus and Mary with Child. Sorry I couldn’t pick just one, all three spoke to me. :)

Thanks to you and Mr. Pinnock for the lovely giveaway. Your blog is fabulous. I am glad to have stumbled upon it. Brightest blessings this Christmas to you and your family.

  • I collect Santas so this would look so cute in with the rest of my Santas. So cute and what a wonderful opportunity to win this wonderful Santa Painting. thanks.

  • I love your Santa painting. His eyes really do twinkle. Ahhhh..He would look great on my dvd cabinet (in my main room). I thought it was cute in the post how he was like the traveling gnome — moving from spot to spot…

  • 1. I’d love to give this to my mother-in-law to decorate her house with. She goes NUTS for Christmas. It’s her favorite holiday and I think this painting would look lovely in her living room.

    2. The Pioneer Family

    3. I tried to get the link to work that was preset but it would not work no matter how hard I tried, but I posted a link to your site via my blog: http://luckieduckie27.blogspot.com

  • This is an adorable Santa Claus painting. April, you are to be congratulated for finding him to teach your painting class. I’m beginning to see why you turned out such fun and lovely paintings–like teacher, like pupil. This Santa reminds me of when I was a child and waiting so anxiously for him to arrive. Maybe owning it would help me feel that same excitement at Christmas once again. That would be a definite plus in my life.

  • In the painting by Nathan, (Santa’s sparkling eyes are so joyous), I’d place this treasure among my crafted reindeer, standing on a shelf…

I’m sure with the magic of the light of the moon, shining in my window, Santa would talk to his little herd of handmade friends!

What fun stories and memories they would share, I can imagine, traveling around the world each Christmas Eve!

  • I give my son-in-law a Santa “something” every year. He collects them. It might be an ornament, a rug, a statue, etc. I’d love to give this to him.

  • If I won this lovely give away I would place Santa on a shelf next to our Christmas tree–so he could oversee all the Holiday Happenings!

  • I love so many of Nathan Pinnock’s works. The Nativity is beautiful-and the Santa Workshop and Job Well Done are so darling!

  • I love how versatile (and jolly) this Santa is. He’d be the center of attention in my rather Christmas barren home.

  • There is just one place for this Santa…right next to the Christmas Tree. What a glorious site it would be.

  • The painting “Lead Kindly Light” has a spirit of hope and advenure, I like the title, too, it is perfect!
It would be beautiful on my wall.

  • Since I collect Santas, I feel I can give this picture the perfect home: my 1930 cottage mantle holds all my international santas (collecting for 10 years or more, my santa candles (collecting since my first child was born (1966). What more can I say. Great idea. Love you Home Hinges Sisters (my nieces) Love Auntie P

  • Oh me! Oh my! How happy am I? I just found you via a link you left over @ My Romantic Home for My Romantic Friday. I actually looked at your semi-homemade village first, then ran across this post. I LOVE the Santa painting! What an excellent job Mr Pinnock has done! To be honest with you, I don’t know just how I’d decorate with it yet – I’d have to see it before I could place it. This is the first year I’ve really decorated since I lost my teenage son 9 yrs ago. Between finally getting past the grief and depression, and enjoying the recent birth of my first grandson, I’m getting to decorate this year again! My tree is up, lit and partially decorated. I’ve got to finish getting out my decorations – it’s already almost like Christmas, opening up the boxes after not seeing them for years!
I would love to win this, as I’m trying to decorate now for another little boy; lots of colors and Santa and reindeer and snowmen and such. Of course a painted Santa would have a place of honor, and I think I really like the idea of a silver-tone frame as opposed to a darker one, judging by your photos. Thank you (and Mr Pinnock!) for a chance to win this wonderful painting! Leslie Anne

  • Oh, and just one more thing! I forgot to mention that I absolutely adored the painting “Armor of God”. It reminds me of some wonderful things I learned this summer.

  • That photo of the mother and son at the museum with the title of “Teach me to walk” is amazing. It’s like writing a memoir in four words. All the Christmas paintings put a slow, spreading smile on my face…they capture the joy of Christmas on many fronts – keep up the good work Nathan!

  • It would have it’s own special place on my fireplace mantle. What a beautiful painting! Love love LOVE it!!

  • Mary and Child, that look on her face… I totally understand and have felt that feeling. He captured so well the love a mother feels when looking at and holding her child. I absolutely love this painting. Excellent work.

  • I really can’t pick a favorite -The nativity just glows , I love the shepherds on the camels, the cowboys , John the Baptist, I love all the Santas , and santa in a job well done and I really like Santa and Mrs Claus doing the jig-I would love to have that on for our master bedroom at Christmas time –because having four boys -my husband nad I aleays feel like this after we get everything under the tree and then see their excitement in the morning.

  • Whoever wins this beautiful painting will have a beautiful treasure. I cannot help but hope it will be me. But I will be happy for anyone to
    win.
    Merry Christmas to all.

  • I would adore the Santa painting, since I have a huge collection of Santa”s it would fit right in when I set up my Santa display.
    What a great giveaway, thanks!!

    Mary L

  • Oh my .. could there possibly be anyone who comes to your site who would not want this treasure? Good luck to everyone … including me.
    Merry Christmas, everyone.

  • I’m currently in corporate housing with very little surface space and of course putting holes in the walls is strictly prohibited, so Santa would have to wait until next year where he’d likely get a prominent place in our new home in Guinea. :)

  • Nathan Pinnock and his family grew up in my parent’s ward. What a small world it is. He has some beautiful artwork. I really like The Virgin with the Lamp and Teach me to Walk.

  • It’s so beautiful, I would keep it up all year round! Actually, I would give it to my mother-in-law who would leave it up all year round!! :)
