    Bak’n some Bacon

    May 17th, 2011

Here is a super easy and fast way to make super yummy bacon.

The first thing you do is put aluminum foil on a regular cookie sheet. (The correct terminology for the type of pan I am actually referring to is called a jelly roll pan, but who wants to say such a long name? Nobody!)

The next thing to do is get your yummy bacon out.

Then start laying the strips together until your sheet looks something like…

This! Then put it in the oven. Oh and remember your don’t have to preheat your oven!

Put the temp. to 400 degrees F and set the timer for about 20 minutes.  For me it took about 25 but it depends on your oven.

Pull your bacon out and put it on some paper towels or napkins and let them cool.

This post (and bacon) was brought to you by Trisha our wonderful cousin who finally gave me a push to put up a post. :)

I think we all look at food like this from time to time, especially on Superbowl Sunday.

    Odd Entertainment

    January 26th, 2011

You may think that it is impossible to have fun in the winter. You might think that the only thing a porch does for you in the winter, is give you something to shovel. Well, for my friends and I, shoveling is not the only thing…  We jump.ME JUMPING

Yes you might find this one of the most odd types of entertainment.  My friends and I think so too, But does that keep us from doing it? No.

You will need:  A porch to jump off of, a camera to take pictures, and healthy knees and ankles for a pleasant landing.Jump

    How to use your equipment:

Porch – Take a running start and jump off of it.

Camera – When person jumping is in the air, click your shutter button. ( You might want to put your camera on a sports mode or one that takes the picture quickly.)

Knees and Ankles – Take much care in your landing with them.  CAUTION! You might hurt these, so be safe!

Enjoy having some weird fun with others. You might do this for a few hours… Like we did!

    Bucket List Books

    September 8th, 2010

Over the summer I read a lot of great books.  Here’s a quick review of some of my favorites.  Even though I’m only thirteen years old my adult sisters and I would recommend them to all ages.

The Hunger Games is a fantastic book with lots of adventure and exciting new ideas. I think this was a masterpiece of a book and is also a fabulous series. It has some violence but is still a great book. I would rate this book with 5 stars!

Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games series. It is a great book with a cliff hanger at the end.
Luckily, the third and final book of The Hunger Games series just came out.  (No waiting for years like the Harry Potter series.)  It’s called Mockingjay and I’m saving my pennies to purchasing this book.

The Seer and the Sword was a book that I just finished just recently. It was pretty good but there would be things that I would change. Maybe a little less murder and hate? More humor and action?

Fairest I read a little while back but forgot that I read it. This is a good book that a lot of girls at my school liked and read.

If you’ve read any of these let me know what you thought, or if you have any recommendations I’m always on the lookout for a good book.

    May Cake

    September 1st, 2010

It is no longer May.  Yes I did notice that the cake below says “it’s May” and I also noticed that it is the first day of September, but I have been meaning to make a post about the cake… or something like that.

A few months back, my friend Brikelle and I really wanted to make a cake so we could frost it and have fun.  We may have also wanted to eat one too, but that is not going to be featured in this post.  The results are below:

No the white frosting is not perfectly smooth.  Do not judge us. . . we’re amateurs!

We went on youtube.com to find out how on earth we were going to use the piping tips.  We figured out the rose and leaves.

An because we had sooo much frosting, we put piping on the sides and edges. . .

And maybe a little more on the sides and edges.
Once we were done taking pictures we dug in.  And enjoyed every crumb.

    Who Knew…

    August 11th, 2010

. . . that jumping off your front porch could be so entertaining?
. . . that there could be so many people to see your brother open and read a letter?

. . . that some one had to mow that whole stinkin lawn?

    . . . that the garden was successful…once?
. . . that an eye could be so gray?
. . . that dressing your dog up and taking pictures of her could make her run away if you put something on her?

. . . that a watermelon could be so small?

. . . that sending people bills could be fun?

and who knew that taking pictures could be so interesting?

    Watermelon, Weeds, or Both?

    August 4th, 2010

This is my garden. . . of weeds. Yes I know, it’s pretty pathetic, but it is my garden that got started. . . and never finished.

What you see here, are the weeds that planted themselves in the garden. I hate it when they just think that they can walk right in and make themselves comfortable.

All the fruits and veggies that we planted were not successful. The only thing besides weeds, were watermelon plants.

Last year we planted Watermelon, but they didn’t turn out very big. And we only got two Watermelon out of two Watermelon plants. Oh well. *sigh*

My garden has a lot Watermelon plants in it.  And a ton flowers on the plants.  I cannot wait until those flowers turn into big, juicy, Watermelon!

Can you see any Watermelon plants?  Weeds?  Both?

    The Gypsy Dog

    July 28th, 2010

Have you ever seen a super model dog?  Or have you heard of a dog who thought she was a queen and therefore did not think she had to follow commands?

    I have that dog.

This super model queen who thinks she is too good to play dress up is coming your way. . .

This is when Gypsy can’t stop reading a good book.  Notice the elegant paw holding her page.

This is when Gypsy is so grumpy because I took so many pictures of her. Right now she is a peasant.  See how she glares at you for making her do something that she believes is beneath her?

This is when Gypsy wants to go sailing. Her hat sits on her head like a crown.

Now Gypsy is in want of a beach so she can get a nice warm sun bath. OK…. Right now she just sort of looks like a regular old dog …. but, don’t queens always look regal?

Here is Gypsy when she is cold.  Her servant wrapped her up tight.

Finally, here is Gypsy in her true state: regally relaxing while waiting for her personal guards to take away the paparazzi.
